Meet Mr. Lou

For more than 25 years, Lou Santini helped young children grow as readers as an elementary educator and Reading Recovery specialist.

A Michigan Teacher of the Year nominee, he brings years of experience supporting young learners and a love for making each child feel welcome, capable, and excited to participate.

One of his favorite classroom traditions began with The Gingerbread Man stories and a giant gingerbread man made with his students.

When their cookie friend mysteriously disappeared, the room filled with gasps, questions, giggles, and ideas!

Together, the children followed clues, planned a trap, and caught their runaway treat.

That cherished tradition inspired his and his wife's children’s book, Get Up and Go Gingerbread Joe®, and the LIVE! experience families enjoy today.

Now Mr. Lou brings that same thoughtful blend of storytelling, hands-on discovery, and imaginative play to schools, play spaces, and family events, inviting your child to join the fun, share their ideas, and experience the joy of a story brought to life.
